META-VET Project Kicks Off with Promising First Steps

On 23 January, the META-VET project officially launched with a successful online kick-off meeting, bringing together all project partners to set the stage for the months ahead.

The meeting served as an opportunity for partners to introduce themselves, present their organisations, and outline their roles within the project. Each partner gave an overview of their assigned work package, highlighting the activities planned for the initial phase of implementation.

The first phase of the project will focus on conducting a comprehensive literature review aimed at identifying the current needs of companies in relation to collaborative robots (cobots), as well as evaluating the existing training offer provided by Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools. This foundational research will be followed by two surveys – one targeting company associations and another addressing TVET institutions – which will be distributed through the consortium partners.

The insights gained from this analysis will guide the development of a “train the trainers” course and a tailored training programme integrating cobots within a metaverse environment. This approach will ensure that the project responds to real market demands and aligns with the capacities and needs of TVET providers.

The META-VET project sets out to bridge the gap between industry needs and vocational education, paving the way for future-ready training solutions in the era of automation and digital transformation.

We are pleased with the successful launch of the META-VET project and the fruitful exchange during this first meeting. The collaboration now continues as the project moves forward with its initial activities, and we look forward to reconvening in person in May for the next project meeting.
