MetaVET at TechConnect Festival 2025: Exploring the Future of Technology and Learning in Brașov

Last week, the MetaVET project took part in TechConnect Festival, the first technology transfer festival ever held in Romania’s Central Region — a dynamic event dedicated to bridging innovation, creativity, and education.

Brașov and its surrounding Central Region are home to some of the country’s most advanced dual-learning vocational schools, where students gain both technical knowledge and hands-on experience through close collaboration with local companies.

This unique symbiosis between schools and enterprises represents exactly the kind of environment that MetaVET aims to strengthen — where education meets real-world industry needs.

During the festival, MetaVET representatives attended inspiring talks and interactive sessions with innovators and creators who redefine how we think about technology and learning. Among the highlights were Andrew Melchior’s reflections on how radio bursts can inspire creativity and art, and Cecilia Mosze Tham’s visionary talk on design, experimentation, and the future of technology. Her call for the Romanian ecosystem to play with and embrace its own identity deeply resonated with MetaVET’s spirit of innovation and inclusiveness.

TechConnect offered not only inspiration but also a space for dialogue — showing how collaboration between educators, technologists, and creative industries can lead to meaningful change in vocational education and training.

Congratulations to the TechConnect team for a successful first edition! The MetaVET consortium looks forward to returning next year to continue fostering innovation, creativity, and skills for the future.
